Green. ANVIL.

Award-winning Sydney builders delivering architectural new builds, renovations and commercial fitouts across the Inner West, Eastern Suburbs and Lower North Shore, from boutique studio Green. ANVIL.

Established in 2015 as a boutique, hands-on building company, we have evolved into a trusted construction partner for discerning clients, delivering projects defined by craftsmanship, clarity, and considered design.

We deliver design and construct and construct-only builds, working with clients across the entire build process from initial site visit, through design management, to authority applications, build and handover. Our approach heroes traditional workmanship and processes built out of sustainable construction techniques. We help our clients to repurpose existing materials where possible and work with them to select sustainable options for new features.

The Green. ANVIL. Process

Every build is unique, but our process, crafted, deliberate, and focused remains the same. It’s how we consistently deliver award-winning projects.

Green. ANVIL. delivers award-winning architectural builds, renovations and fitouts across Sydney.

Pre-Construction

Great builds start long before the first hammer hits. Pre-construction is where we build certainty. Through planning, collaboration and clarity.

Construction

Once planning is complete, construction begins. This is where our process, team, and systems come together to bring the vision to life, built with precision and delivered with care.

Post-Construction

Construction may be complete, but our involvement doesn’t stop at handover. We stay close, to ensure the final stages are as considered as the first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of projects does Green. ANVIL. take on?

Green. ANVIL. focuses on architect-designed residential and commercial projects in Sydney’s Inner West, the CBD, the Eastern Suburbs and beyond. That includes renovations and extensions, new custom homes, heritage restorations, commercial and restaurant fitouts. We work best on projects where design quality matters and where the builder needs to be a genuine collaborator, not just a contractor executing.

Do you work directly with architects and designers, or only with homeowners who already have plans?

Both. We regularly work as the nominated builder on architect-led projects, brought in as a trusted delivery partner from early in the process. We also work directly with homeowners who have an existing design brief or who are still in the early planning stages. If a project does not yet have an architect attached, we are happy to discuss suitable referrals.

What areas of Sydney do you build in?

Our primary focus is Sydney’s Inner West, the CBD, the Eastern Suburbs and beyond.

What makes an architectural builder different from a volume or project builder?

A volume builder works to a repeatable system. Their business model depends on standardisation, speed and scale. An architectural builder works to the specific demands of each project. That means different materials, different construction methods, different site conditions and different consultants on every project. It requires broader technical knowledge, closer coordination with the design team and a higher tolerance for complexity. Green. ANVIL. is set up to handle that kind of work. A volume builder is not.

How do you handle heritage renovation projects in Sydney’s Inner West?

Heritage projects require a particular combination of knowledge and patience. That means understanding what local heritage requirements apply, working with council where consent conditions are involved, and finding construction methods that preserve the character of the existing building while delivering on the brief. We have experience working on various heritage conservation areas and styles, including terraces, Victorian and Federation-era homes and buildings.

What is the typical process from first enquiry through to construction?

Each project is unique, with variables that shift the process. Generally though, it starts with a conversation about the project scope, site conditions and programme. From there we move into detailed planning, documentation review and procurement before construction begins. Here, we can discuss the design – whether you have engaged an architect or interior designer, or if you need recommendations. We will give you a clear picture of the process, budget and timeline at the outset so there are no surprises once the build commences.

How do I know if Green. ANVIL. is the right builder for my project?

The simplest way is to have a conversation. We will be direct about whether your project is a good fit for us, and we do not take on work we cannot deliver well. If you are working on an architecturally designed residential, commercial, or restaurant fitout project in Sydney’s Inner West or Eastern Suburbs and you want a builder who will treat the design with the same seriousness the architect brought to it, get in touch and we can go from there.

How involved will I be during the construction process?

That depends on your preference and how the project is structured. Where a client has an architect administering the contract, much of the day-to-day coordination runs through the design team. Where we are working more directly with a homeowner, we keep communication open and straightforward, giving you regular updates on progress, programme and any decisions that require your input. Either way, you will always know where your project stands and have the means to communicate directly with the full team running it.

Do you provide a fixed-price contract or do you work on a cost-plus basis?

The right contract structure depends on the nature of the project, the completeness of the documentation and the level of risk involved. We will talk through the options that make sense for your project and explain the implications of each clearly before anything is agreed.

How far in advance should I approach Green. ANVIL. about an upcoming project?

Earlier is almost always better. Getting a builder involved before documentation is finalised gives us the opportunity to provide input on construction methodology, programme and procurement that can genuinely improve the outcome. Even if your project is still in design development, it is worth having an early conversation so we can give you a realistic sense of timing and how we might work together. This process is called ECI or Early Contractor Involvement and almost always leads to better outcomes from a cost, design and delivery perspective.
