We work across the Eastern Suburbs, including:
We built it all. New homes, knockdown rebuilds, renovations, extensions, and commercial fitouts. Our portfolio of Eastern Suburbs work includes major renovations to Victorian and Federation-era terrace homes across Bellevue Hill, Darling Point, Vaucluse, and surrounding suburbs. We manage the process from initial site visit through design management and build, whether you come with an architect or want us to lead the design. When it comes to authority applications, the architect or planner engaged on the project will manage these. Green. ANVIL. has the ability to manage this process if required.
Many Eastern Suburbs sites, particularly in Darling Point, Bellevue Hill, Vaucluse, and Point Piper, are better suited to knockdown rebuild than renovation. Older structures on premium land often carry substantial remediation costs, and a full rebuild gives you the opportunity to build to the current standard without compromising on the finished result.
Green. ANVIL. manages knockdown rebuilds from demolition and disposal through to practical completion. We work alongside your architect to sequence the build and manage approvals, carrying the project from day one to handover.
Heritage-listed properties and conservation areas are common throughout Paddington, Woollahra, Darlinghurst, and Surry Hills. Council consent is required for works affecting the external and sometimes the internal fabric of a listed building, and CDC fast-track approval is generally not available for these projects.
Terrace renovation is also where traditional workmanship matters most. Original floorboards, period cornices, sandstock brick, and heritage joinery all require builders who understand how the original dwelling was built and how to refresh and retain their best features. We work with clients to retain and repurpose existing materials where possible, rather than replacing them by default. It’s how we ratin the best parts of a heritage building while future-proofing it for the years to come.
Tight sites and shared party walls are part of the daily work here. We plan for limited access, neighbouring properties, and council requirements from the start.
Residential renovation and new build costs in the Eastern Suburbs generally sit between $7,500 and $10,000 per square metre for mid-range residential work, and $10,000 and above for high-spec and architect-led builds. Knockdown rebuilds at the premium end, in suburbs like Vaucluse, Point Piper, and Darling Point, are typically priced at the upper end of this range or above, depending on site conditions, scope, and finishes.
We’re transparent about cost from the first conversation. You’ll have a clear picture of what your project is likely to cost before committing.

Which Eastern Suburbs does Green. ANVIL. service?
We work across Paddington, Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick, Bellevue Hill, Double Bay, Rose Bay, Vaucluse, Point Piper, Darling Point, Bondi, Bronte, Clovelly, Coogee, and Tamarama. We also build across the inner-east, including Surry Hills and Darlinghurst.
Do you work on renovations and extensions, or just new builds?
Both. Much of our Eastern Suburbs work is renovating existing homes, particularly heritage terraces. We also take on extensions, knockdown rebuilds, and new builds on cleared sites. We offer design-and-construct and construct-only delivery depending on where you are in the process.
Can you build on heritage-listed properties in the Eastern Suburbs?
Yes. We work on heritage-listed buildings and properties within conservation areas regularly. We work with the client’s architect and, where required, heritage consultants to navigate consent. Every heritage property has different constraints, so we assess these individually before advising on scope and approvals.
Do you need a DA or CDC for works in the Eastern Suburbs?
Heritage-affected projects almost always require a DA through the relevant council, rather than CDC fast-track. Non-heritage work may qualify for CDC depending on the project type and scale. We advise on the correct pathway from the outset.
How do I start a project in the Eastern Suburbs with Green. ANVIL..?
Get in touch with your site address, a brief description of the project, and your timeline. We’ll arrange a site visit, talk through the approval pathway, and put together a quote. You’ll have a clear picture of what the project involves before committing to anything.
