Building a modern reinterpretation of coastal style on the New South Wales Central Coast.

Working with designer Matt Woods (Killing Matt Woods) to create a warm beachside home that utilises an environmentally conscious palette of materials contrasted against a bright white backdrop.

The project involved the complete gut of a dark and inefficient family home in Avoca, creating a connected kitchen and living space, a new bathroom and master bedroom.

Drawing on a restrained palette of muted metallic finishes, this Central Coast beachside residence subtly references the Golden, Silver, Bronze and Iron Ages of Greek mythology. These layered material cues introduce depth and narrative, grounding the home in a sense of permanence and cultural memory. Set against an unmistakably coastal backdrop of light, air and openness, the metallic elements provide a deliberate tension — robust yet refined, ancient yet contemporary. The result is a residence that balances softness with strength, where mythology and modern coastal living intersect in a quietly dramatic architectural expression.
