Organic shapes achieved with off-form concrete. Converting a working industrial space into a three-bedroom, two bathroom apartment.
The NoMad project transformed an existing commercial shell into a refined three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment, balancing gallery-like openness with the demands of everyday living. Engaged early, we worked closely with the client and design team to manage value without diluting intent—retaining raw elements, reworking structure, and integrating new services seamlessly. The original concrete slab, marked by years of urban wear and significant level changes, was carefully preserved and resolved through a precise mix of finishes rather than replacement.
Complex curves, abrupt angles and bespoke masonry demanded exacting coordination to achieve crisp, flush junctions throughout. A large-scale, single-pour GFRC kitchen island—engineered around an existing load-bearing column—anchors the space, while new joinery, polished plaster, mosaic tiles and soft blush tones introduce warmth and flow. Delivered within a tight program, NoMad is now described by its owners as an “urban sanctuary,” and has been featured in Vogue Living and Est.
