Restoring an art deco gem to its former glory
The Churchill Apartment was a design & construct renovation of an 1939-40 Art Deco apartment located within the old P & O building. The apartment was one of seven in this building requiring complex management between our client, other residents and the building owners. The project was initially briefed as a small kitchen and bathroom renovation but expanded in scope to include;
The complete stripping out of the kitchen, bathroom and living areas
The removal of a large wall section to open the Kitchen to the living area
The close-out of the doorway from the Master Bedroom to the ‘Sunroom’
The replacement of built-in wardrobes throughout
Construction of a new custom kitchen
Complete bathroom upgrade including re-waterproofing and fixture relocations
The replacement of electrical wiring and extension to the western side of the apartment
Replace plumbing throughout
Upgrading of all panel doors throughout
The sanding and and finishing of timber flooring all while maintaining a period between-the-wars look and feel in skirting and architraves.
