CREATING A MODERN FAMILY HOME FROM A 1900'S-ERA TOWNHOUSE BUILT ON A SLOPING SITE
Structural renovation of a three bedroom, single bathroom detached townhouse originally constructed in the early 1900's.
The project included a first floor addition positioned over the rear of the existing residence incorporating a master bedroom with ensuite and balcony.
The sloping site and out of square building were issues that arose during the construction phase requiring unique solutions.
- We carried out associated external works including excavation beneath ground floor to create laundry, retaining walls and paving.
- Underpinning of existing structure and re-pointing / reinforcing of existing masonry walls to front of house.
- Minor works to the existing ground floor layout were undertaken primarily to make way for the new stairway and provide continuity of level between old and new.
- Other fitout components carried out include custom joinery and bathroom.
